My Coaching Approach
My clients often say that I am warm, empathic and stretching in my approach. I am known for helping people to become more influential and confident in their management or leadership roles, especially when going through change or stress.
Working with Individuals
Clients often find I can help them explore what’s outside of their awareness. With renewed insight and support, people go on to make changes and solve their own problems. I support you to clarify where you are and where you want to get to and then how you move forwards towards your goal.
Working with Groups/Teams
As a facilitator, I often help a team clarify where they are and what they want. We might then explore the biggest barriers and enablers to making the transition from one to the other. This then facilitates a strategic direction going forwards and a new way of working.
My Business Experience
I have a background in Psychology and my career in HR spanned over 15 years, during which time I held Senior Management positions in Learning & Development mainly in Manufacturing and Retail. All involved bringing about significant change to individuals, groups and organisations. I also ran a career centre. I have been running my own business since 2005 and work in both private and public sectors including the 3rd sector with a wide variety of clients.
For larger pieces of client work either coaching or facilitation, I work with a global coaching business called Coachmatch ,(recently renamed Wondrous), as a partner coach.
Examples of Assignments
- A Director in a retail fashion brand. Helping the client to dramatically reduce stress levels and manage change effectively.
- A COO in a Tech company, helping him to work more strategically with senior stakeholders.
- A Strategic Business Development Director, helping them to solve complex problems in a matrix organisation.
- Company Secretary in a Public Sector Housing Association. Maintaining confidence during a period of transition, enabling performance to continue at a high level.
- A Regional Manager in a well known large food retailer. Developed a more coaching leadership style to managing his team and greater resilience in a new job of greater complexity and responsibility.
- Compliance Manager in an Investment Management company. Developed a strategic vision for her department and having explored some in-grained habits, began to delegate more.
